Top Gear Trip repeated in RRS A/B S/C :)

Hi guys,
I have been to Switzerland last week and since I had some free time I decided to take a road trip. After careful planning the trip, I remembered Top Gear guys had series called World's best driving road. They agreed that Davos - Stelvio was the best road. So... I gave it a try. I think it is an amazing road, and sadly photos cannot capture the true beauty of it. I have like 300+ photos, and eventually you get tired of stopping at each spot, there is an endless number of places you can stop and take a photo.
I was travelling alone and sometimes if was difficult to take photos, so if you ever travel that way, take somebody with you.
When you drive through the mountains, there is no room to gain speed, but when you get closer to Stelvio (Italy), road get easier so you can gain some speed. I did not stop in Stelvio but travelled through Italy to Austria. No photos from there, as the roads in Austria are so good Bow down, I did not want to stop Very Happy.

Verdict: I have not travelled by car much yet, but this is definitely the best so far, very very beautiful - highly recommended.

It looks like a road I've driven. Would I have driven on it if I went from Geneva to Monaco via Italy? Confused

Another route the TG boys rate is Route De Napoleon in France, just north of Monaco.

Could be, James. If you went North-East towards Bern, Switzerland, then towards Davos to Stelvio and then South to Monaco.

As far I as I know most of the roads in that part of Switzerland are very beautiful. Thumbs Up Vadim A.

Ahh great road, my RRS was 2weeks old when I took my better half over the Stelvio pass in it. The sunday that TG aired the program about Stelvio was the day I was driving over it. Pics are in my gallery and a short video on YouTube (Alicatt1). We were there first thing in the morning we had stayed overnight at the Garden Park hotel in Stelvio and headed out for the pass at 07:45 the road was deserted on the way up but was getting busy after we started down the south side. Marie hates hights so speed was well restricted for the descent. We returned to the top and then took the Swiss route back, also a great drive. Since then we have been over the St. Bernards pass after going through the Mont Blanc tunnel then on down to th Milau bridge and to visit Nimes via the Gorges du Tarn and the Pont Gar, fantastic journey! Next summer we are taking a road trip down through Italy and no doubt taking in some nice roads. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Very nice trip you had indeed. Next time I will try the places you have been to as well, especially Milau bridge. My gf is a structural engineer, so she would love to see it in real life Rolling Eyes Vadim A.
