 Besides it being a lifesaver with kids and nicely integrated with the rest of the infotainment system, one big plus for audiophiles is that it really makes the Logic 7 processor come alive when playing multi-channel soundtracks, not just movies but audio recordings as well. When my daughter is not hogging all 6 slots of the changer with her Disney movies, I load some DVD-Audio or DTS discs, and the sound quality is just phenomenal, 10 times better than the CD equivalent, on another planet compared to a minimally compressed iPod recording (which I listen to 90% of the times myself, because it's so convenient.) It won't decode DVD-A, but audio DVDs always include alternate DD5.1 or DTS tracks and that's the one instance where Logic 7 really shines.
