Update

Well two weeks after we got the car back to the dealer we are still waiting for a new lock set that is on back order with Range Rover.......three weeks to get a lock set!!!

The supplying dealer is still looking into the Tracker Subscription issue, its looking as though the dealer installed the tracker and checked it working so they feel they paid the subscription to tracker but are still trying to identify the invoice against which it was paid. I will update once I find the source of the Tracker subscription being lost.

Update

Six weeks after having our RRS stolen and recovered the same day, I collected it from Guy Salmon Aylesford today. I would like to thank Clair and all at Guy Salmon for looking after us during the last month that they have had the vehicle. Three year ago I had a very different experience with this dealer but things have changed with a new dealer principle.

Whilst the insurers and the dealer have so far dealt with the situation really well I am now very sure I would have rather not have seen the car again.

We had owned it from new three years at Christmas, it had only done 15000 miles and was in pristine condition. It now seems to have scratches and blemishes all over the paintwork with three really bad spots on the bonnet which cannot be removed without a paint job.

I had lovingly polished the car every week for the three year and there was not a swirl on it. I had not used a jet wash or allowed anyone to wash it.

With all the above and being told another customer of the dealer recently had a BMW and a RRS stolen by breaking into the house whilst they were in bed and having recovered both and two weeks later they came back and stole them again, I am begining to wonder if I should give up the dream of owning such a great vehicle.
At least if the trade in was better I would probably trade it in but have lost too much on a 15000 mile vehicle.

At the moment the saga with the tracker subscription goes on as the supplying dealer says he paid my lifetime subscription to Tracker but cannot give me the invoice detail he paid it against and Tracker say they were never paid a subscription so more about that later as I get more answers or not.

Sorry to hear about the damage to your car..

Assuming the supplying dealer didn't pay via a brown envelope of cash, they should very easily be able to produce a cheque number, credit card reference, or direct electronic payment refrence number from their bank to substantiate any payment they made...

It seems they took the Tracker out and the insurers have had a new one fitted by the dealer. However they have fitted a Tracker Monitor where I had a Tracker Horizon before so it will have to go back to have it replaced!!

The insurer tells me the dealer has charged £900 for fitting a Tracker Monitor!!!
I am in the wrong job.

How was my car targeted to be stolen

Living off the main road I have wondered how my car was targeted to be stolen.

I have been assured that such cars are located and reported back to the gang by text message. The people that do this job of locating the vehicle to be stolen are eastern block friends that deliver bags for what apear to be charities requesting old clothing and jewelry etc. These are also NOT charities.
I had another bag left yesterday when my sons 911 was also on the drive with my RRS and new BMW 5 series.
I am waiting with a large baseball bat!
