I've done just under 1K in my MY10 TDV8. On a few occasions a 'transmission fault' or it may be 'gearbox fault' (I'm getting old, forgotten which it is) has come up on the dash.''

There is nothing noticeably wrong with the car, but was wondering if anybody else has experienced the same problem? .

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.

Would a sticky be possible? It would give us all the ability to show that this isn't a 'one off' fault, as there is obviously a trend emerging?'' .

C'mon guys don't be so defeated! It's a minor error message which resets and doesn't immobilise the car, LR will get a software patch sorted for it at somepoint..... 2010MY Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE

I almost posted yesterday how mine is fine and I haven't any any problems and then today...

Just wondering if anybody has had feedback from LR or dealer about the problem?

These transmission type faults have always been there. Just think of your car as a PC on wheels.....so if your PC freezes or doesn't work you turn it off and back on again. Do the same with the car turn it off and reset the computor.

I will be very surprised that if you took it to a dealer for the diagnostic tool that anything showed up as being faulty. I only say that because I tried that once and was told No fault stored in the memory so nothing we can fix. TDV6 - gone
