Anyone found a decent way of fitting/mounting a games console?

I've fitted a PS3 in the back of mine, the unit lives under the centre rear seat and I have monitors in the rear of the front headrests.
The was a message string on the subject at the time, try searching for PS3 and you will see a few pictures.

Not particularly pimp my ride, but if I can get a console for £50 and bastardize it a bit it could sit under the drivers seat for easy access, bit of leather trim and you'd never know it was there. I'm more interested in where to hide the wiring rather than just plug it into the aux sockets. I have the rear ent package anyway so it's no giant leap...

I found the underside of the centre rear seat a perfect position and trimmed a small letterbox size hole in the plastic trim to allow me to insert discs without having to lift the seat.
It's that easy I can even change discs while driving if I wanted to.........lol

My monitors have small control boxes on the floor under the front seats that the leads connect to with all wires hidden under the carpet.

I figured if I shaped a cover and trimmed it, I could mount under the drivers seat and not hack any of the original trim. I guess I can find a wiring diagram to feed into the av circuit in the center console under the fridge or something like that. I don't mind hacking a second hand xbox however...

I have a set up that allows me to interchange the XBOX360 Elite or a PS3 and play online games on the move with mobile internet. Photo is here, fitted it all myself so any questions let me know

Excellent install. Thumbs Up

I see you have created a 'Letter box' as well for accessing the game/DVD slot and power/eject buttons.

How does that look when the seat is in position? has it been 'Re-finished' to stop it looking like someone has taken a junior hacksaw to it? Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

it is a letter box the flap is up which is unfortunate as the seat is folded but in normal position you cant see anything until a disk pops out and the disk lifts the flap up, works fine and keeps the cosmetics of the car, I can eject the disk from the front using the PS3 bluetooth remote, and the wife just pops a new game, kids keep their seat belts on. works great. xbox360 just goes in its place as well the dive tray just pops out the letter box.

Great setup, with mobile broadband too for online gaming Bow down

I presume the mobile data rates are fast enough for it, but how much data allowance do you need for it to stop it costing a fortune Question

I got an 2 GIG per month data package for £10 but the bandwidth roll's over, the kids arent on it al the time so have never gone over the limit.... it gives me mobile wi-fi for for anyone in the car with a laptop as well, and blackberry etc. If your ever on the M25 and see the car feel free to connect... it is the ultimate mobile hot spot Smile

I wouldn't mind doing something similar when the kids grow old enough for computer games

The only problem I have is I only have a Nintendo Wii, and I don't they are compatable with kids straped into seatbelts swinging their arms here and there Laughing
