Question for Angel ...... German assistance please!

Angel - I'm in Germany on holiday at the moment and was just asked how many PS my RRS has (TDV6 ...). He then asked me about the fuel economy (l/100km) - to which I had no ready answer!

Being a complete no-hoper with any sort of technical question I need to understand firstly where to find the "PS" info, and then how to convert normal MPG to l/100km ........

Are you or anyone else able to help?

Just about to hit the autobahn and head up towards Karlsruhe after blasting round rides at europa park yesterday so I need a speed fix! RRS TDV6 SE Java Black +towpack +tintent +Permagrin

What a difference between this and my old Disco3

I may be about to make a complete fool of myself BUT............

I think PS is the same as BHP in which case the TDV6 is in the region of 200....

Can't help on the l/km though Embarassed Embarassed Current: I can't say...Oh the Shame!

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

From LR Website

LR-TDV6 -3.0ltr
Max Power: 180kw (245 PS) @ 4,000rpm
Max Torque: 600Nm @ 2000rpm
Fuel Consumption: 30.7mpg (combined cycle)

LR-TDV8
Max Power: 200KW (272 PS) @ 4,000rpm
Max Torque: 640Nm @ 2,000rpm
Fuel Consumption: 25.5mpg (combined cycle)

LR-V8 Supercharged- 5.0ltr
Max Power: 375KW (510 PS) @ 6,500rpm
Max Torque: 625Nm @ 2,500 - 5,500rpm
Fuel Consumption: 19.0mpg (combined cycle)

I had hoped for the TDv6 2.7 but for once LR are ahead of the game on their website! The PS etc is in the technical data page of your owners manual - your car should get something like 11l/100kms

Comparing outputs of the 3.0ltr with the TDv8 shows how superfluous the TDv8 will become in September 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

If you do that Jimmy you get AMERICAN gallons! Google seizes up if you ask it for Imperial Gallons!

In my opinion that comparison just confirms there would be no reason to go for the current TDV8 in the MY10, yhat just isn't enough difference to warrant the premium! Also especially after having heard how quiet the new 3.0 TDV6 is in the XF.

Yes, the mpg va. l/100km thing is a bit complicated. At first I also wondered how you got your mpgs until I recognized there was a difference between your mpg and the American... Rolling Eyes

But you can calculate it quite easily: y l/100 km = 1/x mpg * 1.60934/4.54609 / 100Cool

Germans always ask me about my "Verbrauch" in l/100km. I know they want to hear something about "15 l/100km" so they feel better about the thirst of their car, therefore I always answer "Depending on driving style and where I drive it is between 11 l/100km around town and 8 l/100km on the Autobahn!" which of course is a lie but their faces are just priceless! Thumbs Up Mr. Green

edit: deleted "," and postet "." in the calculation, stupid German-British differences in commas versus points... Rolling Eyes Wink RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink

You must have made some error in your calculation! Shocked Or is it just to see my stupid face? Laughing

I get about 12-14 l/100km in town (well, Stuttgart consists completely of mountains that may have something to do with it) and about 10-11 l/100km if driving big distances. In my holiday in France i had about 9 l/100km with four passengers and a full boot Thumbs Up , so speed limits may really help a little - but a 1 or 2 l/100km saving would never be enough for me to accept a national speed limit on the Autobahn, a saveage of 10 l/100km would not be enough! Ach ja, to answer the original questions:

German PS means Pferdestärken, so you can translate it easily to horsepower. As already stated correctly by some users German PS are the same as bhp, it is just KW (Kilowatt, but I guess it is the same shortform in english Wink ) multiplied with 1.36. RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink

2nd, the UK prices for 2010MY mean that a 3.0ltr HSE without any options will cost MORE than my TDv8 when I bought it.......... what to do about replacing the TDv8 when it gets to 2.5/3years old? Big Cry
The other problem is that the XF is probably the better car ......................... shame on you LR for your ludicrous pricing policy. Only thing is that with stupidly high prices for the 2010MY RRS and the high demand for good used RRS's here, depreciation will hopefully remain low on my TDv8! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Well, the MY2010 RRS has an interior which is as nice as the interior of the FFRR on that basis its acually cheap because it is still a lot cheaper than the FFRR! Thumbs Up Wink
