reduced engine power v8 s/c hst?

Hi this is my first post on this forum. I have a 55 reg s/c v8 with 48k miles on the clock which after being driven fairly hard comes up with the message reduced engine performance on the display. The car loses all power and will not run unless you switch off completely and restart. The same problem also occurs when the cruise control has been on for a long period. My local dealer put hteir tester on the car and could not find any faults so any help or info on this problem or how to cure it would be greatly appreciated as the last time it happened on was in the outside lane of the motorway and was not a nice experience!!!

Have them check for misfiring and then look at the S/C cooling pump as I bet the issue is there. (had mine replaced last month and all is well now) Brit across the Pond Wink
