Tragic accident at Mont Blanc

Someone I know who works with my wife was killed at the weekend descending from Mont Blanc Exclamation

Sounds like he made the fatal mistake of not roping up for the descent and stepped on a snow bridge over a cravasse which collapsed plunging him down 140 feet.

Very sad loss Exclamation

Some years ago I took up the same venture to accend Mont Blanc. Climbed Mont Maudit next door to it and came close to being wiped out by an avalanche. Whereupon I decided doing Mont Blanc was too dangerous. A wise decision as several people were killed within a few day of each other.
Luck was with me. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone
