A recently retired New York man wanted to use his retirement funds wisely,

decided to buy a home and a few acres in Portugal ...


The modest farmhouse had been vacant for 15 years; the owner and wife

both had died, and there were no heirs.


The estate was being sold to pay back taxes. There had been several lookers,

but the large barn had steel doors, and they had been welded shut. No one

wanted to go to the extra expense to see what was in the barn, and it wasn't

complimentary to the property anyway... so, no one made an offer on the

place.

The New York gentleman bought it as is, paying just over half of the property's

worth; moved in, and set about to access the barn... curiosity was killing him.

So, he and his wife bought a generator and a couple of grinders... and cut

thru the welds.

Holy S ! What an amazing find and look at the condition they are in, hardly any rust just tons of dust! Even the interiors won't need a lot of work down on them.
Pity I won't find anything like that hiding at the back of my Dad's shed - a couple of Austin Healeys, a Honda Jazz, a Defender90 and an Autosleeper motor home......... Even the Aston that was in there has now gone  2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

...and then the question is what to do with them all? Sell them all on I suppose.

That was originally going round by email a few years ago, and from what I recall the story itsn't 100% accurate.. The barn and cars did exist, but the part about a buyer purchasing the barn and then finding the cars isn't accurate.
