2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 Java Black

Good idea about taking all the tools out Nick. These rattles can drive you crazy, I'll be interested to hear what it is?

and Will, you'll be happy to know, have the bushes etc changed on the car 2 weeks ago, due to knocking etc, and 2 days later, it's just the same as it was!! Still knocking.......nice....

2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

I had the same problem and eliminated rattles / squeaks in:
1) Tailgate strike plate - Applied a bit of grease.
2) Rear seatbelt holders at top of seats - belts keep coming out when people use the rear belts. Might try the velcro idea
3) Roller security cover was also a culprit for rattling really bad. Try just taking it out first if it's not needed.

Oh and hi all. New user just signed up. Got my 57 plate RRS a few months back.... Loving it other than duff front end bush problem..

The strike plate is the lower tailgate latch/lock mechanism.

Nick is your rattle from the upper tailgate or lower? Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

I had this with my car; i stuck some velcro on the upper tailgate latch sides and it went away.

still rattling away and yes it is the strike plate......will get it looked at soon, just seems silly to go back to the dealer over something so minor....
