How Much to Pay

hi all

seen a few RRS's for sale on autotrader, most are at dealers, looking for 2007 HSE, with low miles, 20,000 or less, in black, privacy glass, side steps, 20" wheels, wanted to spend about 30k, is this a realistic figure, coz i have found a few that match the spec i want but they are asking for 33k but are willing to come down on price by £500, wot do you guys think?

cheers

So many new buyers came to the sector when RRS prices tumbled - opened the car up to a whole new market - and then demand for cars increased, thus pushing up prices as cars were in short supply........simple really.....cars are making over book now.

Nice car by the way Mark - is the interior Hawke supplied? What about the red brake calipers? Do you mind if I ask how much the wood and steering wheel and calipers cost?

By the way, the Toyos on your car are great - I have the same tyres, and I'm nearly at 24,000 miles in them and still have 6mm in them.....great Thumbs Up

i paid £31k for a 57 plate with 15k, tdv8 HSE, excellent condition, from a dealer, with 6m tax and a tank of fuel, this was in January. I probably could have saved more but I really couldnt be arsed to keep looking!

I still have a little giggle at the thought of getting an nearly new TDV8 HST from a main dealer for only £40k just before Xmas!

A mate visited the loacal car auctions last week and older HSE models were fetching high £30k's FFS.

I'm sure prices will tumble again once the new model comes out but my car is a long term keeper so who cares.

I think that the fact that fewer new cars are coming off the production line should help stabilise prices of good second hand RR's. My view is that prices tumbled as a result of rising fuel prices, followed by credit crunch and then by recession. I paid £42k for my 57 plate TDV8 with 10k miles about a year ago. Whilst I've probably had 20-25% depreciation in a year, hopefully the rate of depreciation will be much lower over the next 2-3 years.

It's quite safe, but does hamper any offroad capability.... not really a lot of point in it to be honest...
