Best tips for keeping a dog from destroying the interior

Well Significant Other has moved from 'ooo wouldnt it be nice to have a dog' fair enough probably would...sometime. to 'its arriving next month' 4 year old collie that someone has rescued blah blah

Anyway, I have the 4x4 so I am expected to provide dog transport in my 5 week old RRS

Whats the best way (other than just dont) to preserve the bootspace from the inevitable impact of dog.

any particular bootliners and dog guards etc preferable to others?

get a cage but the best one to get is one tailored for the car. Do a google for one, plenty of companies do them. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

A few folks on here have used the cages from Lintran before... I think they do a RRS-specific one as well.

Finally make sure you've got the big RR rubber matt down on the floor - in case. TDV8 with optional dog.

Tell the SWMBO you are selling her car and getting her an ex farm Defender 90 Hard Top for dog walking duties! The dog will not be able to damage the interior even without a dog cage, but I can recommend a dog guard so it stays in the cold, unyielding back of the truck and cannot get at the two plastic covered seats in the front. If the dog has an "accident" in the back then you can hose it out too. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

How about a Dogbag. Available from www.roofbox.co.uk in various sizes.

Keeps all the hair and wet inside the igloo shaped collapsable cage. Can be taken out of the car and used as a portable kennel anywhere.

That's what I use and I think a couple of others do as well. TDV6 - gone

I was thinking along the lines of the lintran type boxes but the dogbag sounds like a great idea !

Best of all though is the old defender 90 shooting wagon errr dog truck honest dear..

2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Buckingham Blue

I have a 1 year old GWP dog who loves munching things so got the standard dog guard (RR part, fits behind rear seats). The big standard heavy rubber boot mat is ESSENTIAL but isn't compatible with the dog guard (nice one LR, couldn't someone have thought a bit harder about that maybe?). But if you snip off the metal corners it fits perfectly under the dog guard.
That worked fine mostly, until the dog decided to claw at the rear side windows and managed to put two nice parallel claw marks into the glass. Don't ask me how that happened but it did (he's a big dog)!

So, if I was doing it again (and I will be shortly) I'd keep the rubber mat and get a lintran dog box - several companies make them to custom fit the boot of the RRS (lintran, and others - look in a shooting magazine for the adverts in the dog section - theres lots of them). Good thing about those is that you can park the car and leave the top half of the boot open with the dog in the cage and unable to escape or eat your car. Only slight issue for me is my dog just about fits into the boot as it is so a cage might be too small for him Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE, Buckingham Blue with Ebony Black

Don't have a dog and don't let anyone else's dog in the car. It's the best way. I've been mad for flipping years, absolutely years, over the edge for yonks.

I've only just joined this forum, having purchased a RRS this week, but if your response is indicative of the attitude and behaviour typical of RRS owners I think I might just cancel my order...

It is not the slightest bit funny or clever and is extremely offensive to the 2 million dog-lovers in the UK.

I hope to God that driving a RRS does not associate me in any way to
