I have always wanted to go to Iceland for a holiday after I worked there for a year. I had planned to go there last year but due to me changing ships it didn't happen.

Of course you could tell her that you are taking her to the desert as Iceland has it's own one in the SE of the island, you just happen not to mention that it isn't a hot and sunny desert - actually Iceland is often warmer than the UK as it is more in the Gulf Stream than us and it can be relatively warm there in the summer but hardly the Costas or the Balearic Islands................................ 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Dormant for nearly 18 months and somebody is looking for Iceland holidays! I'm still up for it and I'm sure that with the financial crisis in Iceland it will be significantly cheaper now than it was 2 years ago! There is one big problem.......................... I'm sure I read somewhere recently that the ferry service between Iceland and the Faroes has been discontinued. Certainly flights from Glasgow to Reykjavik have reduced from daily to two a week this winter. The ferry company is Smyril Line http://www.smyril-line.com/ICELAND/PACKAGE...eland.aspx

Coko most folks do it on an individual basis within a group - the ferries companies don't give discount for groups of cars Personnally I would be looking to go in August as that would fit in with my work schedule - you need a 3 weeks to a month really to see the whole island and the ferry trip back takes longer than the trip out because of the way the timetable work - IIRC you have to spend 2 nights in Thorsahven coming back.

Tim couldn't you just see to getting one of your little boats, and steering it this way, and we all rock up and drive on, and get ourselves a little mates rates deal - and maybe help ourselves to some of the oil too? |
