Thanks in adavance... Bow down

Coko, in the uk car insurance is one of the most unpredictable headaches ever. Try one of the websites like confused.com for a rough idea. Then phone around to some brokers to see if they can help lessen the pain.

I insure with Land Rover Insurance and pay about £350pa for my TDv8, cover includes all the things that a Land Rover is expected to do - towing, offroad use, offroad recovery, stuff on the roofrack, audio, screens, unlimited continental use, etc etc. It may help that I'm 51 and live in the sticks with an exceptionally low crime rate postcode. Car is not garaged and no extra security systems were required for it. There's one named driver on the policy. I've also insured with them for the last 12 years and have full NCB. My 90 is also insured with them, but they will not allow me to have both cars on the one policy Big Cry Big Cry 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

How much would they quote if you asked for off-road use to be included? I get it for free even though in the case of my TDv8 I have not ever used it offroad. My last RRS went offroad a few times and my 90 is only used for offroad.
I think that if you asked any of the big names for one off off-road use cover they laugh at you and probably revoke your policy just for thinking about using the car for what it was designed. You have a car that is designed to be used off-road - why not insure for the eventuality that you may have to go off-road (towing into a caravan park for instance). Don't forget, off-road doesn't necessarily mean going into the mud - it means going off a metalled road adopted by the council in the eyes and minds of most insurance companies - so you may find you are un-insured if you go to the local agricultural show and park in a field these days! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
