As for tracker, i am not sure how its progressed in the last 3 years, I always had tracker in the UK up to 2005 on my Scoob. On the Subaru forum a few WRX's that had them, and these the police believed were stolen to order, normally the rare WR, RA or 22B models etc, the tracker was usually found ripped out within a few miles of the crime scene , a lot of the "professional" thieving scum, if that is what it seems what is is looking like here, used to know the majority of hiding places.. not unless of course over the last 3 years they have changed the setup..

I'm 5'6" and 11 Stone and here the f***ers very often have guns and other weaponary, so dont mind me saying that in your case it may be OK but this isnt the case for most and even if it is, is it worth the risk? Think of it this way, if they are already in your house when you are clearly at home means they are willing to risk more than your common petty thief?

dazsear, I can understand were you are comming from but I dont believe a car or material items are worth the risks for my family and me! (also why we have insurances trackers etc)

LU, hope the insurance company sort you out asap, and you can get a replacement very quickly as some sort of compensation. I am hearing more of this day-day, and some cases the people responsible have not even tried to hide the fact/their identities.

In the last 12 months, clients of ours, we've had 2x RR Sports go missing in the same manner as your situation, and an RS4 cab, where they simply smashed through the lounge and face - face said, give us the keys, we aren't leaving without it. In the case of the RS4, the guy is very 'well connected' and put an offer of £10k reward around all the labourers yards, the city wide distribution network for the building trade and also around all the wholesalers, chippy's, sparkies and the like. 1 week into 2008, the RS4 was found unmarked with keys in the ignition in a nearby town. They have it back now, but want shot of it, as it keeps drawing unwanted attention and they live on the edge all the time.

I for one, haven't bought another high performance car simply due to the economic climate, and because of these scrotes going around nicking cars to order. My barges are all parked up outside, flood lit, and cctv'd up, keys next to me and other locked away in safe place. Im not going to make it easy for anyone, but i don't have kids or vunerable people in the house, so i will take that chance.. but prefer my sisters to leave their keys downstairs with the kids asleep upstairs in their rooms. Car is one thing, life and wellbeing is another. Insure it, tracker it, and Gap it.. and secure yourselves..

I find a German Sheppard, Jack russell (hard as nails) a base ball bat and a 12 gauge 32" cold drawn steel barrel normally deters folk.

Failing that, i'll introduce them to the wife
