Looking for some advice on a new stereo system for my house and just noticed Kaine was a sonos dealer!! Just what i was looking for

Has anybody any experience of the sonos stuff or any advice???

I know what i want and it is the BU150 bundle with an extra zoneplayer 120 plus 2 ceiling speakers 2 outdoor speakers and 2 indoor speakers

SONOS is an excellent product, however for your info I had to be converted. We only supply and install products we actually like ourselves plus are reliable enough that we never have to go back to site for. In the past I had always kept away from wireless systems due to the unreliable nature of wifi networks, however SONOS is quite different. SONOS uses its own 'wi-fi' network and hence is able to avoid the normal wifi issues that some other systems fall foul too. We run a demo kit in the office, plus I now run two units at home as I am so impressed with it.

Jay may be able to give you an independant user's opinion on the SONOS a bit later as he is currently using it himself

A couple of minor negatives to be aware of

- The SONOS controller is not touch screen so inputing searches is long winded (however if you have an iPod Touch or iPhone then this solves this issue
- You can't zone control the SONOS - any controller can effectively control any zone. This is an issue for one of our customers who's young lads keep changing his SONOS Alarm clock to the early hours of the morning playing Metallica

In case of speakers, I can highly recommend the Monitor Audio range of in-ceiling and small cabinet speakers - for the price they are excellent (especially with my discount) . I've installed plenty of in-ceiling speakers over the years and in the last 12 months we have settled with Monitor Audio as a benchmark.

also, the Napster Addon (subscription service) is excellent too - my wife is addicted to it

You get access to pretty much every song available, plus the Top 100, Most Popular etc searches are very handy. Napster also make up Xmas compilations etc, plus now you can access BBC podcasts too - I spent the weekend listening to The Now Show podcasts

Thanks for your help Kaine i want to make sure it is 100% what we want as it is a big outlay if it is not right for us but it is looking like it is

I witnessed the SONO arrangement at the weekend - all I can say is WOW, albeit a certain fruit named gadget crashed mid demo

Only thing i would change at the mo is the way the alarm works would be good if i could select what days it when off and not weekdays, weekends, everyday or once

But apart from that not much i can say i don't like about it at the mo

Oh and the iphone app works very well
