2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

There is another test report on the Q7 V12 in this week's Autocar.................. only gets 3/5.
Price is £96295 OTR................. that's a lot of dosh for a flashy VW, and an ugly one at that. Anyway there are such stupid comments in the test as "It will see off a Diesel Range Rover Sport and worry a Porsche Cayenne" Well for that price and with near twice the cc and 50% more torque that a TDv8 I would hope it would see one off otherwise there is something very wrong with it! There is one place that even a RRS HSt would see off the V12 Q7 though.......... don't want to upset any Q7 lovers but the huge (even larger than on a standard Q7) front grill and lower bumper looks like it would struggle with getting over a kerb lowered for wheelchair users................... Audi is going to get a lot of folks looking for replacements if they venture down a street with speed bumps! Rolling with laughter Oh and we won't mention the fuel consumption............. all they say is it's up to 40% more than the petrol engined equivalent.......................... 40% of pretty awful must make it pretty bad then, unless you start to use the performance when it is truly abysmal going by what the mag says - they don't quote any fuel consumption figures!! They also reckon that a Q7 V8 Tdi is a better buy................... as it's performance isn't far behind the V12 and it is considerably more economical and it costs half the price of the V12 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The Q7 IS a good car.

It is far better quality than a RRS, a good drive with a selection of good engines.

From some angles I even like the way it looks.

The problem for me is that from other angles it's a pig.

The V12TDi at over 90k is faintly ridiculous. How much are going to charge if they put it into a R8??? Shocked

Still, each to their own and you can be guaranteed SOMEONE will buy it... Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

My gripe with this sort of thing is there are so many used Basic Q7's on the road now that look virtually identical - so why would you want to pay nearly £100k for this Confused

Audi have a habbit of doing this - ie A4 Cabriolet - you can get this with the "FULL S LINE" body kit look - and looks too similar to the S4 and dare I say it.... the RS4 cabriolet looks virtually the same !

I agree.......... save some money - buy the TDV8 Q7 - get it chipped = Job done!

Germany 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey

Well, I have driven a Q7 several times and it really is a great car. The only problem with it is that it just looks like a minivan that has been jacked up and in fact it looks absolutely boring and it is so ugly that nobody whose eyes are still good enough for driving a car could ever call it a nice car! And if I would want to have a hell-fast, unbeliavably expensive and far more ugly SUV to hammer down the Autobahn at more than 155 mph - and if I had the money of course - I'd go and get myself a Cayenne Turbo (S). Sure it doesn't have 7 seats or the space of the Q7 but then it is a lot faster than the Q7 V12 Diesel and the Interior is much nicer and I don't think it will drink that much more (okay, maybe twice as much but who cares... Laughing ).

But since I do have eyes (yes they are not the very best anymore due to my age but they are still good enough to recognize my car being ugly or not Wink ) I would not buy any of them. Since I do have eyes and since I do have taste (at least what I think is good taste! Wink ) I am searching for an RRS which is in my opinion one of the most beautiful cars built today! (Although I have to admitt, the Q7 is perhaps the better car in any other point but the RRS just looks sooooo good! Cool )
(Since my minister of finance (aka Mrs McBunny Wink ) knows what any of these cars cost it's going to be a used Diesel RRS and not a chipped SC-version. Crying or Very sad But on the other hand that will allow me to drive my car because some money is left for fuel! Shocked Very Happy )
