The D3 has the better lighting/aircon in the rear due to the 7-seat config so I doubt we'll see it in the RRS Very Happy

Thanks for the info Emma - I too have a RRS and a D3 and basically agree with what others have said about the 2 cars. The RRS is a far better drive but the D3 is such a useful car, it's a bus, van, garbage truck and executive car all rolled into one. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red

Land Rover's original plan was to design the Discovery 3 and once that was finished to design the RRS using as much of the Discovery as they possibly could. The engineers that took on the RRS design task however couldn't resist changing the suspension, which achieves the better driving dynamics, but blew the design budget and unit build cost (the different suspension needed different tooling). As a result the interior of the RRS had far less time and money spent on it than should have been the case and that shows itself in many ways.

Its clearly another case of the bloody Acc....owww.....nts (still can't say that word) stopping the clever guys creating a work of genius.

Mind you, the vehicles still sell like hot cakes, so perhaps it wasn't such a stupid cost saving after all. RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

Guernsey 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Buckingham Blue

My Sport HSE has rear aircon and sunroof which is an Oct 06 date, when checking out saw the original order and it was for a standard HSE spec vechicle, no added extras ordered.
Thought the sunroof was definatley a cost option and now would seem have got rear air con as well thrown in, which was one of the reasons I got it as the kids did get a bit hot in the old Disco TD5.

Having to come acroos on the ferry and then drive during the night 200 miles have found driving the RRS not to be anywhere near as tiring as the old TD5, which I have put down to the ventatalation system being much improved. Intresting that some feel the D3 is better than the Sport.

The RSS Sport I have driven considerable distances and find it out performs the D5 but the D5 is much more versatile and has many more useful add on's.

RSS is for fun driving and the D5 is the daily work horse...

Hope that makes sense of the use for both.. Range Rover Sport HSE TDV6 - 08 Plate
