Anyone got a 2nd car for a cheap runabout?

If so what you got and is it feasible financially in the end?

Looking into it but there are a number of factors to way against slightly better mpg and depreciation of RR

1. Purchase price
2. Tax
3. insurance
4. Running costs (tyres/brakes/servicing etc) L319 D4 HSE

have wifey's Mini Cooper - use it now and again as wifey is now using the Touareg all the time - can get over 50mpg from it - insurance is cheap (£250 ish) for both of us and road tax is middle of the scale

Kaine - How on earth do you get 50mpg out of the Mini Cooper Shocked I thought I was doing well, driving it like a yooff in a Corsa and still getting high 30's mpg. Your obviously not driving it properly. Cool Whistle

If and when I'm feeling really frugal I wheel out my little 125cc motorbike. I get best part of 100mpg out of that. £15 per year road tax and insurance is less than a ton a year. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE.
