OVERFINCH 22" TIGER WHEELS

Hi, Could anyone tell me if there is any visible difference between the original & replica wheels.
Are the rears stamped with anything?
Has anyone had any problems with the replicas.
Many Thanks
Pete. Thumbs Up

The replicas are supposedly subtly different (the angles of some of the surfaces etc) obviously to get around patents etc. But to all intents you cant tell visibly. Maybe stamping is different (know it is on my rep stormers), but nobodys gonna crawl under your truck to inspect them! (stamps quickly get covered in black brake soot anyway).

Been a lot of speculation on here about them 'suddenly' failing, cracking, buckling. etc. Although I have never ever seen any evidence of this. In my opinion the 'not OE' debate is really the last argument the official suppliers have for charging often FIVE TIMES as much ££ for essentially the same product (which is just sourced from a third party supplier anyway, and at cheapest cost possible (read: most margin possible)).

OK, so there is 'official' type approval. This involves testing the wheels specifically on the car. But at the end of the day the reps go through the same process 'unofficially' anyway (i.e thousands of people worldwide driving round on them). If they failed suddenly i'd like to think that maybe the rep dealers might not be able to continue to sell them!!!

Anyway, your call - I got some reps and saved ££thousands on OE. Because my personal opinion is that they look the same, are made out of the same materials and are used globally by thousands of satisfied customers.

Those who have stumped up the wedge for OE and paid three grand more aint gonna agree! Thumbs Up

None LR wheels doesn't mean bad wheels. The key is to check the load bearing capability of the wheel. Your "Truck" (quote ex-x5) Laughing is a heavy piece of kit and needs suitably strong shoes to carry it.

All this said replicas are generally not as good in ALL aspects as the originals they are attempting to replicate (In my opinion and experience).

Spend 50K plus on a vehicle and scrimp on the wheels to save £1500? Not for me!

Overfinch wheels have the word overfinch cast into the back of the wheel.

I've seen some really good quality reps and some very ropey ones.

Lots of sets for sale on ebay are replicas passed of as genuine , I travelled to buy a few sets and got fed up with finding replicas described (and priced) as genuine.

Some of the reps I've seen had VERY low load rating of around 750kg per wheel.
THIS IS DANGEROUS. however nice the finish is.

Generally the max load is around 900 - 1050kg , no worse than the LR wheels we are removing.

Good luck

We have seen some Overfinch reps with cracks, on the same token some are well made and load rated correctly, problem is you can't tell by looking if they are good. You get what you pay for so a set of £1200 reps with Toyos are probably not great! www.designerwheels.co.uk

United States 2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Santorini Black

I have an authentic set of 22" tiger Overfinch’s with the original pirelli P Zero scorpions tires for sale. I have been looking for somewhere to sell them, but no where seems to be reputable enough. I was wondering if any of you knew anyone looking, please email me. I have not had a Range Rover for over a year, and I would like to sell them at somewhat of a reasonable price.
