Pelmya - its tough to say to be honest. My wife is the same, so I have a YSP1 hooked up to a Jamo D6 sub in living room and find it very capable for general tv and movies we watch together. It does a great job of projecting the rear sounds, however honestly speaking it does fall short of creating a rear image like a dedicated setup - I'd say it does a good job of extending the left and right channels out to the side of the listener and would definetely impress most people. It is a very good option to avoid wiring.

I was worried about having hose pipe cables going to my rear speakers thinking that they'd have to go under the floor boards or behind the skirting boards.

But the truth is that the rears only need tiny cables. Slipped under the carpet out of sight and I even run them up the wall in the corners at the back, painted the same colour as the wall and you don't notice them. If I'd been staying put I might have recessed them. It wouldn't have taken much to have hidden them completely.

As for the front they are as short as possible and can't be seen behind the rack with the kit on.
