Worked eventually however its very slow - force to me means kill the processor operation which doesn't seem to happen on the MAC. My PC ran perfectly

Pelyma - is there a quicker way to do it ?

Basically iTunes kept hanging when ripping CD's and the only way to restart it was to Force Quit which took about 5-10mins to work.

Joking aside about Mac v PC, I'm keen to learn. The MAC interface was pretty cool though Thumbs Up

Kaine, the few times mine has hung (I have had one since January) I click on the apple logo (top left of the screen) and click force quit. My keyboard does not have an apple key like Nick was talking about. She wasn't running Windows at the same time was she? Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate

I dont think windows wasn't running on it - it was a Mini Mac so maybe processing power was an issue? it was a new MAC apparently. Anyway, I've decided to rip all the CD's back at the office on my PC as I'm just not familiar enough with the MAC - might get one for home though so I can get my head around it better

Kaine, MACS rule! I know Ive got 10 of em' and all more stable than our PC's!
Yeah, go apple logo top left and force quit.

Another thing - you dont need to burn from inside Itunes. The files are all in your home folder (inside the music folder). Just drag 'em to your CD app.

If you hate macs that much, you could use VM ware or similar (effectively partitions a bit of the drive and boots up as PC! (you need to install PC OS of course). You could have then sorted and burned your music in an environment you're used to)

If she comes in again (and you can divert your gaze away from her tits for 2 secs!), hook up to the web and go to apple > software update. Also make sure you dont run too many apps (theres a utility which shows you what apps are sucking up what juice) - hopefully then you shouldnt experience the pizza wheel of death……… Thumbs Up

Dont hate MAC - just prefer PC's - to be honest I dont know MAC's well enough to hate them - I have to interface with a lot of third party systems and hardly any would run from a MAC, plus I need an RS232 port (not USB replicator) for most system interfaces so I'm stuck with PC's for the moment.

I had to use iTunes as I needed to rip the music into MP3 and dump it onto a Network HD server - they didn't have any other software on their MAC other than iTunes so do this.

The problem was really the time it took to force quit - upto 10 mins. I'm sure its not a common problem for the MAC, however it was a pain today

I see you're one of Apple's larger customers then, having 10 whole Macs at your disposal! Wink

If your PCs are unstable, I can assure you it's not Microsoft's fault. I will lay my last 20 years earnings in the IT industry on that! Very Happy
