Expedition Roof Rack Questions?

Cost aside is the Expedition Roof Rack (the G4 one) the best one for the RRS for general 4wd stuff - spare wheel carrying etc etc?

Also is it able to be easily removed and replaced or is it a case of once it's on leave it on?

Lastly can you get it with the additional lights like on the G4 cars or not - in the LR brochure it does not appear to have these as an option?

The expo rack is small, yes you can get a spare wheel and tyre on it and a few extras but not a huge amount. Regards fitting - you have 2 options. The best way is to get the roof rails for the RRS and then fitting and removing is easy. The second option is to use the fittings provided with the rack - not nearly as good and a bit of a hassle to revove etc.

Lights - you would need to cut holes in the front cowl of the rack if you want to fit lights and then you need to make some brackets to mount the lights. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Thanks VA...

Doesn't sound like much of an option from your description, in particular the 'small' comment.. If my 4wd bug continues to bite i may need to get some 'reasonable' additional carrying space, particularly for longer trips!

Guernsey 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Buckingham Blue

Had one fitted 4 weeks ago, not huge but handy. No real wind noise when tested back in the UK. Knocks the mpg down 3-4 mpg.

When ordered thought it had to have roof rails but when collected they said not required, so they sent them back. Would be great if it came off easier for mpg reason alone, but at present looks like it would have 3 mounts sticking up looking plain ugly if removed.

Any help with part numbers and how the rack and rails fit together would be gratefully received as the dealership here is a small multi franchise outfit, and have to go in armed with all the details, to get a job done.

Mind you no VAT over here makes it a little easier on the wallet

Also picked up a roof bag from Duckworths for £75 and they also have a few other sport goodies cheaper then main dealer prices.

Roof rails make attaching the rack a lot easier. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
