it might be daft to say but what about some of those spikes that they put on the top of CCTV cameras, little suction pad to keep them in place

may be these Tim cut them to shape look like they have a bit of hight to them so no need to stick them down or anything?

They do them in black or Grey so you can decide what the match it too, the mirror case or the paint and leave them in place all the time like a pit bulls collar |

yeah you can just get a really big pit bulls collar and wrap that round the mirror mate RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

There is product out here called "Hot Foot" or something like that which we can paint on areas where birds perch - as the name suggests it makes their feet hot and they keep off. Have a look round you hardware stores or animal section in the supermarket.
