he should have took the second runway (which is more appropriate for the windy conditions they had that day)

and for you VA: you was just to fast for the first exit to come

Yes looks like the left wing tip touched the runway.

I believe everything looked good till he applied left rudder to align with the runway. Too much too quick, maybe also a bit of gust at the wrong moment. On modern airliner you usually do not apply much bank when landing because wings and engine are very close to the runway and is very easy to touch.

Agree, should not have found themselves in that situation, but there's always a lot of pressure to land at the destination airport.
