United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Word of warning on LR dealer arranged finance

Bought a RR TDV8 Vogue SE, 2007 for 55K, part exed existing car for 10K, 15K cash + 30K finance. I was told by dealer when I asked him directly that the interest rate was 6%, foolishly took his word for it, didnt read small print, prestige dealer, articulate and plausable. Paper work came through and interest rate was 17.5%. and big penalty for early repayment, Royal Bank of Scotland finance. Contacted finance company and they were not interested. Paid off the finance at a cost of 3K, dealer paid a 1/3rd after long negotiation.
Was like doing business with a back street garage and a loan shark not prestige car dealer and international bank!
Check the small print!!!!!!!

Kam could probably give better clarification on the exact date, but currently HP agreements over £25,000 do not show the APR, however I understand this could be changing in April to be shown on most finance documents.

I'm guessing the dealer was talking flat-rate when in fact you wanted to know the APR? As you asked directly, the fair thing would to have asked "do you want to know the flat-rate or APR" to save confusion.

Always, always, ask if the rate being qouted is the FLAT rate or the APR, a lot of dealers and some banks will say to you " The intrest rate is 6%" which is their way of making it sound good, to get the APR a rough guide is to double the qouted rate and you won't be far off. Speed Limits! not where I live!
