2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I wonder if there really is a recession starting and folks have stopped buying the upmarket Mercs because it they are a conspicious sign of loadsamoney and folks don't want to be seen in that light any longer, prefering to buy upmarket Audis and FFRR's or have Merc just let their quality fall too much and folks are using their feet and going to other brands. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

The latest line of Mercs are apparently a bit better than standards have recently been, but I think Merc's reputation has been very heavily dented in recent years. See the associated rise in Audi and BMW sales.

Engine is superb - 306bhp @ 2585Kg and 700Nm (2200-2600rpm) makes it really shift. On paper this makes it more powerful and lighter than the RRS TDV8 however not driven the TDV8 yet so cant make direct comparison - it is definetely quicker and smoother than the Q7 4.2tdi though. However what makes it feel so good is the gearbox - the changes are extremely smooth and at times you can only see the up shift by the rev change.
Had a go against a Q7 (Traffic Light GP) the RRS did not let itself down, just enough space between traffic lights to get up to the 120km/h limit on the dual carriageway and brake for the next set of lights. The Q7 wasn't far behind me but only managed to pass me when I had to turn off at my exit. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

That provided, I quite like it.

I think it's got so much presence - it's so excessively monstrous and brutal looking and I think that's quite cool Thumbs Up "CY from DISCO3"
