Just received the weekly shipping e-zine that my employers kindly send me and there isa this little snippet of useless info..................

And even more useless - here is this weeks average bunker fuel prices in US$ per tonne - bear in mind that when I draw into the filling station I take 9 - 10,000 tonnes at a single fill up normally in Rotterdam
but we do shop around and will buy smaller quanities in other places if the price is right......... Now think of this, the company has in excess of 500 ships, some 250 of them are big 'uns like mine that burn on average 280tpd
of 380CST oil - we carry 800 tonnes of MDO (diesel oil but you couldn't put it in your car....) as a back up fuel.
Our annual fuel bill for the fleet is in excess of US$6 billion............................................
