A minor inconvenience, tonight when i pulled up at the lights, i put the vehicle in N, applied the electronic hand brake and i got something like 5 seconds of high pitch whining and cog type noises until i quickly released the Brake and all went quiet again

Mine seemed to have been suffering with most of the ailments on the thread, binding, knocking sounds etc. I booked it in for next wednesday at the local stealers, lo and behold this evening it has been working perfectly, nice air sound, no accompany brass section, no binding sounds when i pull off... still going to get it checked though. One of the guys at the office as a disco3 and seems to have a continual park brake warning light warning, before he had a range not available message and the vehicle would start shuddering/stalling, just had that fixed...technology and landrovers, where would we be without it ![]() Cheers Jim Another Pommie Bar Steward down under MY20 Defender 110 SE P400 Eiger/Ebony MY10 3.0 RRS TDv6 Fuji/Ebony/Anigre |

Is the EPB a diff based locking mechanism as standard on a lot of Landies, or does it just lock the discs. Just wondering what dismantling and repairing will entail when it goes in tomorrow to get sorted, it started making horrible noises again when you apply it.. Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

thanks for that Tim, what i am finding is that it has been binding on even after a short pull up, such as lights etc.. I have tried to avoid using it where possible over the last weekned to see if it eases, but to no avail. Will keep you posted on what the stealer says tomorrow Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

The bit that took me a little while to get my head around was the "drum brakes integrated into the rear brake discs" Just a white TDV8 with a few extras |

"The pull ring can be accessed by removing a circular panel in the bottom of the center console cupholders, on LHD (left-hand drive) vehicles, or by removing the parking brake switch on RHD (right-hand drive) vehicles. "

Just got back from sunny melbourne, the Sport was fixed by Alto. According to the wife who collected it, so i cannot verify for the accuracy of this statement.. After a time (mumble/grumble/something) had loosened to far, and the EPB mechanism whatever was trying to take up the slack... |
