Dealer fit Privacy glass - Question from Nubie

Hi everyone, my first posting, so pls bare with me.

I've managed to get my LR dealer to agree to fitting privacy glass all round, foc, before I collect my 06 RRS in a few weeks.

How will I be able to tell if they have done a good job and not cut any corners? Is there anyway this could be done badly, and if so what should I look for?

Thanks,

Are you having factory fitted privacy glass or having it done at the dealers after the fact?

Simply put, if you can see the heater elements in the rear and side rear glass, it's been fitted aftermarket, i.e. an interior film affixed to the glass.

Suppose a dealer can order panes of the factory fit glass and replace the clear stuff.
Bet he doesn't!

Search for tint or privacy in the forums for comparison shots.

FYI - Privacy is quite dark and the front windows are hardly tinted at all. Some prefer the aftermarket which gives you a bit of leeway on tinting the fronts to be almost as dark as the rear. Downside, is being able to see the heating element. I have the aftermarket and prefer less of a differential between front and rear glass. 2022 P440e AB

If I was going to use any aftermarket company then I would highly recommend Pentagon to do a professional job. Check out their web site.........there may be a dealer near you. TDV6 - gone

Yes, Pentagon do cracking work. BUT you won't be getting privacy GLASS from the dealer - the dealer fit option is to apply a tinting film to the existing glass, which as others have rightly pointed out.... looks a right mess. As far as fitting the film goes, I'm sure the dealer will farm it out to someone anyway and the workmanship will be fine but there's a world of difference in how the end result looks between factory fit and dealer fit. Thank you all for your comments. The guy at the dealer I'm buying from takes Fridays off, so I can't call him today and ask. Paragon with mentioned at another dealer, who quoted me £450 for Paragon to do the job. The dealer I'm buying the RRS from has quoted me the same sort of price, or even a little more I think! so lets hope he uses Paragon.

Thanks,

The dealer will almost always skim some margin out of this sort of work... if they outsource it, then it's normally going to be cheaper to engage Paragon directly to do it.
