The TDV8 will continue to hold it's value well for some time yet I reckon and of course, you'll get a newer car which will also be cheaper to run. Granted, it will cost you more at the outset but it's where the sensible money is | ||

The LR Experience instructor said that in his opinion a chipped TDV8 will beat an SC on all levels except that 1st burst from 0 - 20mph. He says from 30 - 60 the Chipped TDV8 wipes the floor with the SC (In his Opinion of course). I have to say, after driving a Non-Chipped TDV8 I can believe what he said quite easily. My choice would be the TDV8. Economy and Performance! 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

The SC was much quicker from 50 mph up, but if you've got a couple of points then this may not be a benefit. The TDV8 seems to pull better out of corners, and where I live it's fairly fast but twisty. The main thing is that driven hard I was getting 11mpg from the SC and under the same type of conditions am getting just over 20mpg so almost double for a small difference in high-speed performance. I find the engine note of the TDV8 is just as exhilarating too.
