Fuel Tank Capacity

I've just read the following from the Land Rover website:

Fuel tank Petrol/Supercharged usable fuel 88.1 litres (18.5 gallons). Diesel usable fuel 84.1 litres (19.4 gallons). Low fuel warning at 9 litres (2 gallons) approximately.

Is it just me, or does that not make sense ? i.e. the more litres it holds, the less gallons it holds

Ah, that will be why Land Rover quote totally unrealistic MPG figures for the RRS on their adverts

2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Stornoway Grey

And my fuel light comes on well before it gets to 9litres left, perhaps thats cos it's a supercharged though and it's scared stiff of running out! L319 D4 HSE

...or the light comes on and before you have a chance to think about how much fuel you have left, you DO only have 9l left!
