Sorry Kaine, hope they are all still there and safe, we had it on a smaller scale recently, sparrow hawk (I think) helping itself to baby starlings in our garden.

I see a lot of buzzards in Shropshire around Kaines neck of the woods and I think you are right P
But whether its buzzard or eagle they get very tired very quick so it will look for easier prey - something out alone that it can pick up first time.. As for the cat or (pussy)Kaine no it will not go for it. They are protected as P says so if you do accidentaly slip on a fake bannana skin while holding the gun Whistle - bury it quick You don't stop playing because you get old, You get old because you stop playing.

You may well be right Pelyma - I'll try to get a photo to id it - btw the gun comment is tongue in cheek - the bird was quite an incredible sight - I'm the last person you'd imagine to hold a gun, let alone fire one

lol @ ivery unfortunately the antis have eyes everywhere. Buzzards are very common here most days we will have them in the field by us. In the main they eat carrion, worms and rodents/rabbits but a tasty duck a la orange isn't beyond them. A keeper friend had a problem with a bird that used to frighten partridges into fences, thankfully after a while it flew into one itself Wink
