United States 2007 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Buckingham Blue
Another New Owner & a story

My wife started talking about new cars for herself and it got me thinking, I was driving a very nice 2005 LR3 SE, which I was quite happy with but then I visited the dealer one Monday on May, 2 hours later havin driven a Rangie HSE, a RRS HSE and then the RRS S/C I made my mind up and negotiated like hell for a good deal.... I drove home in a brand new RRSsc with all the toys.....that come as standard on the US spec.... plus stormer wheels.

One happy camper for sure..... the wife was a little surprised I beat her to it, now she is shopping again Smile....

However, 3 days later we had a bit of a mishap when a moron lost his brakes in a F150 pickup and slammed into the rear of the car whilst it was parked up outside Burger King... no one hurt but one sore car.... its in for repair and received $6500 worth of damages, but is on the mend and should be home sometime next week we hope with a new tailgate, bumper rear lights and one side of the exhaust.

Well once I have it back I will take a few pics and post them ... dont have any of the smash that would of been good Smile

Cheers,

Adrian

Wow... how much bad luck can you have? First, you end up at Burger King... next, someone's driving into the back of you! Shocked Glad it's all getting sorted and you can get on with your RRS-owning life! Thumbs Up

I’ll add my welcome to the forum too Adrian Thumbs Up

What rotten luck, getting your RRS rear ended, I would be devastated beyond belief. I’d say I’d have to be restrained on the roadside both for my own safety & for the Muppet who ran into me, if that happened.

BTW, I just love the way in the U.S. that you can simply go into a dealership looking around & after an hour or so, “Drive Out” in your new car. It’s not quite so simple over this side of the Pond, well not in Ireland at least. Firstly the dealership wouldn’t have a car in stock to sell you. So that’s a three month at least, provided they even have a “Production Slot” to give you !

But if by some miracle they did have an available car, it would certainly take a few days to a week to get it ready for delivery.

Anyway, best of luck with the repairs, I hope it doesn’t ruin the RRS ownership experience too much for you Sad

Thanks Guys..... now they have me in a most wonderful PT Cruser, that has a 0 to 60 of about one week... Smile

Yep its great fun buying a car and driving home all in an afternoon, Im originally from the UK (Aberdeen) so know how long it took when I bought my other LR`s from the dealer there, plus at the time I remember you had to pay for services, not sure if that is still the case but here its all free for 3yrs which makes for cheaper motoring... except the cost of Gas keeps soring....

So counting the days till she comes home and the wee PT rental goes home too.... before the wife decided she likes it too Smile.

Cheers,

Adrian

Welcome Ayates,

I guess when you went in and ordered a Whopper, you were not expecting this kind, eh?

Did you buy from LR Houston North or the dealership in town? PJPR

Hi PJP,

I bought it from LR Houston North up on I45... as this is where we got the LR3 from and I have always had better service from those guys than the dealer in town even if that means I drive quite a bit further to get to them... (Im on BriarForest/Eldridge), plus they gave me a good deal considering the car is very popular.

Cheers,

Adrian
