2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Cairns Blue

Paul

When you do have your upgrade done by JE perhaps you could let other forum members know how they do it?

I met with a customer of JE's on Thursday and he confirmed to me that the ecu was removed and a 'scruffy young chap' wondered off with the ecu for over an hour. The customer was not allowed to see how the upgrade took place.

I'm smelling fish again Wink

I always encourage my customers to watch excatly what I'm doing and to keep them informed throughout the upgrade process. Chips with everything

In my industry it is very easy to bamboozle 'Jo Public' and all I wish is that tuning companies like myself are honest about what we do to a customer's car.

I know for a fact that JE cannot upgrade the ecu diagnostically via either the OBDII port or 'on the bench' as you may have been led to believe.

I'm more than happy to have competition in the market with the likes of JE because they are reputable and supply quality products like ourselves.

I would hate to think they would lower themselves by using the power of 'mis-information' to attract and retain existing and new customers! Chips with everything

They open up the ecu once it's out of the car unlike Turbochip who program via the OBDII port Wink

If Jonathan from JE wants to do the same then maybe you could ask him to call me Wink Chips with everything

Turbochip I am convinced that your offering is fantastic, but why knock everybody else out there, none of it is rocket science and there are a lot of decent offerings as well as absolute crap. Incedentially we have been tuning all sorts of cars including LR's via OBD2 for sometime - it really makes no odds wher you access the ECU it is the quality of the tune that is relevant, and as you well know the numbers are often misleading a good tune improves driveability, performance and economy rather than striving for numbers in some stupid little power band.

It's a shame you've just joined this debate so late. I'm not knocking anyone but we have been tuning the TDV6 engines for over 14 months now and unfortunately there was an insinuation that JE knew more about this LR product than we did.

I can assure you that tuning these TDV6 engines via the OBDII is not a simple process and without boring you it involves canBUS communication rather than 'K' line communication that tuners have traditionally relied upon.

I have always acknowledged JE 's experience with LR products but it would be appreciated if forum members used facts rather than beliefs when trying to 'promote' their choice of tuning company.

JE is good at what they do and so are we but we've just taken the tuning of the TDV6 to the next level Wink

PS Have you ever seen Superchips dyno graph for their TDV6 'conversion'?? They state that a standard RR Sport TDV6 has only 75 bhp @2000 rpm and yet TC's standard car has 120 bhp at the same 2000 rpm. Where did all the bhp go Mr Superchips Wink

The one reassuring thing is JE, like TC, place less emphasis on glossy print outs but rather rely on customer satisfaction and vehicle driveability Wink Chips with everything

rrmad maybe it does not matter too much but if you took your car to be chipped via a none ecu removal and it was removed and the "chip changed" would you be very happy i would not i am considering having mine chipped and have been following this post if somebody is claiming to do a job oneway but "cons"by doing it another would you want to do buisness with them i am going to contact JE myself as turbochip states it is of no help if people post false info you state you chip via the obd2 port what can you do for a rrs Question i may cosider your product thanks graham
