Brakes Squealing - Dealers reason

Had my 56 RRS in the dealer for the 2nd time to attend to my squealing brakes. 1st time they changed the pads and lubricated them, stopped them squealing for about 10 miles. This time they said it's because I have new pads on old discs and they needed to bed in. So why were they squealing before the pads were changed and it has done 3k since the pads were changed so I think they would be bedded in by now. Drove it away and they are worse than ever! I think they're suggesting that I pay to have the discs changed.
I know others have had issues with squealing brakes but I can't seem to find anything about the solution so I can tell the dealer what they need to do.
This is a really embarassing problem, I pull up to the lights and everyone looks around to see whats making such a hideous noise.

TELL ME ABOUT IT!!

I took mine in a while ago and they cleaned the discs FOC, but after a day the noise came back.. they have now taken some details and are "referring" back to LR HQ.. Rolling Eyes

afraid to say you may just have to get use to it, mine has had the brakes adjusted, stripped, redone, at least four times now and yes they still bl00dy squeak, best remedy is turn up the radio Laughing Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

After the first service my brakes squealed for a about a week, then went quite. A week later the rear brakes locked up momenterally whilst I was driving. Took it to the stealer the following day and they replaces both rear discs and the parking brake assemblies under warranty. They said it was a build up of dust in the NS parking brake drum that caused the lock up, which in turn overheated the disc/brake drum. It was routine to change both dics to maintain brake balance. They also said that they have now been advised by LR to dismantle and clean the rear hand brake assembly at all service intervals.

Doesn't seem that anyone has actually got them fixed, just lots of visits to the dealer.
Surely under warranty they should change the whole brake system if they can't stop the problem.

The only TSB I have seen on brakes squealing while driving is one issued way back in 2005.
This noise is only from the rear brakes and it was because of the EPB brake shoe retaining clip becoming dislodged or has broken. A 'Parking Brake Service Kit' usually solved the problem! Malaysia Boleh!

Maybe worth phoning up a brembo specialist and seeing how they deal with brake squeal? Then try and get the dealer to do it? Evil or Very Mad . Just an idea Whistle .
