I bought a new Conti at the weekend as I had a slow puncture and the old one was nearly done. Anyway, both Kwik Fit and National said I needed to open boot and one thought I needed to put the hazards on to stop the suspension going nuts. Well, she still went into super off road mode, but I thought it weird that both mentioned it. Is it true?

I thought one only had to put the car into off road suspension. 2022 P440e AB

Went to Kwik Fit last week-end with the biggest bolt in the world through my tire. They said the same thing about opening the boot. It worked!!! Must read my manual more!!!

Just lock it in Access should do the job, My Q7 had a jacking mode that you had to select via the MMI before you could go anywhere near it. Speed Limits! not where I live!

Opening any door, including the rear one should stop the suspension from going up and down under normal circumstances, e.g. if you have pressed the suspension lower button, but open the door half way through the process, it will stop the suspension from proceeding any further.

Not 100% sure about your case...although I would think it might apply.

Anyways, for changing a tire, the car should be in off road mode to allow for extension of the suspension... PJPR

puttin on the 4 offroad wheels yesterday I had the boot open and in access hight, the car still tried to self level and keep the wheel in contact with the ground, do yourself a favour and put it in offroad hight, although the car is higher you have to jack it up less  Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Had the same at ATS with a puncture.

Opened rear lid and put hazards on. Apparently it's to do with the air suspension.

Before driving off, I then had to set the toggle to normal driving mode.

Not sure why exactly - but it does work.

Hmm, don't remember them ever doing that with mine (and it spent a good few visits at the tyre place).... but I guess as time has passed, the fitters have learnt all the tricks
