PTI and iPhone problem - anyone suggest a solution please?

Hi Guys.

I was bought an iPhone for Christmas and now have it activated etc. It does connect to the RRS PTI via Bluetooth but not automatically! Each time I get into the car I have to go to the iPhone menu Settings/General/Bluetooth and can see they are paired but the PTI on the car reports no phone attached.

If I un-pair them in the iPhone menu and then re-pair by entering the 2121 code it works fine. Is this normal?(Apple says it is). My Nokia N76 would automatically connect with bluetooth whenever I was in range with the car every time. Apple says that they will not auto -pair.

I have never been able to scroll through the address book via bluetooth on any phone used in the RRS.

Or is this maybe a solution that the RRS bluetooth (chargeable) upgrade will fix? Again it annoys me that I should have to pay a "stealer" to upgrade my bluetooth software when he gets all his PC's Operating Systems upgraded free by Bill Gates whenever it is needed!! It's finally gone! Replaced with BMW 730SE in Sophisto grey Xirallic finish with Oyster (Ivory) and black interior. DAB, Climate glass, Ceramic iDrive and gear selector, power boot and iPhone Bluetooth pack - luvvin' it!

I miss my old RRS "bucket" rattling around but it just had to go!

There are others who have said that it does work the same as your average Nokia... phones paired with the PTI should automatically reconnect once you've been through the initial pairing.

Same issue there, seems that I have to re-pair the car and the iPhone after I have either switch the iPhone off or shut bluetooth off on the iPhone. If I keep the iPhone on all the time with never switching it off, I have no problem in the car....
I believe it is an issue on the iPhone side as the bluetooth fonction on the phone is more restricted than on other phone. A software update is expected for the iPhone in the next couples of days so maybe this will solve the issue.

!! Warning: if you have unblock your iPhone to use any simcard and/or install 3rd parties software, do not install the future update as this will reblock your iPhone and removed 3rd parties softwares. Range Rover Vogue ‘17 TDV6

Did you upgrade to iphone firmware 1.1.3?
- If so, did it cure your iphone connection issues?

I am having my PTI upgraded next week. Will let you know how I get on. 2022 P440e AB

I'm on 1.1.3 and currently drive an 08.5my and it works fine as regards BT connection and phonebook. Not checked any other functionality though. Not sure if this helps? Shocked TDV8 HSE in Java/Ebony with Zebrano Wood, RSE, Hybrid TV, and a few other bells and whistles.

Looks like we need to upgrade the PTI upgraded to the 08 software then. Never heard anyone say it works with the phonebook before so PTI software must be the answer.

Mine works! Whistle

Click on this link http://www.landrover.co.uk/gb/en/Vehicles/...ration.htm and download the relevent listing for your chassis number (recently updated to include iPhone).

Mine works fine with the phone directory and connects via Bluetooth every time I get in, however I don't remember the other functions working. I am on 1.1.3. The first time I paired it it didn't work..... what you need to do is pair it, call someone, and whilst in mid call select Land Rover on the screen for your chosen output (otherwise the call will be via the handset), and once you do this the first time it will be set! It did take a second or so to swap from handset to Land Rover so be patient. On the iphone you can select, handset, speaker or the Bluetooth device in mid call, so it looks like you have to tell it the first time even though you've paired it. If anyone needs talking through it then pair your phone, sit in the car and call me on 0208 992 2299!

It is possibly an iphone thing in so much as things work slightly differently to a normal mobile, as currently I can't forward text messages or send/recieve pictures via picture messaging. Crying or Very sad

Hope this helps?

James Thumbs Up

Jay,

Free updates is a topic that has been covered once or twice before! On a serious note I'm not sure if an update will work as it is chassis specific? Will let you know if I hear any news from HQ.

Thumbs Up
