Squeak

Hi, has anyone ever had the misfortune to have an annoying squeak coming from their gear stick. When I am in sports mode and shift the gears up/down their is a squeak ????

Any ideas or should I be off to the stealers??? Thumbs Up Java Black TDV6 HSE - Java Grandes Marques 1/18 - Ducati 749s

Not a squeak but in both the Tdv6 and the TDv8 that I have owned, whenever the brake pedal is pushed there is a quiet click in the region of the shifter. I think it may be the interlock that prevents you from shifting out of P or N
without pressing the foot brake. I think a while back MDP also posted about this. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I can confirm the click noise is normal and is the interlock.

I have experience of the squeak in the past. My dealer dismantled the gear lever covers, lubricated them and then reassembled them. Problem solved. I wish they were all solved as easy as this. Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

Tim, yes the click is there when you hit the brakes but only when the gear lever is in P or N.
You're right about MDP. I think he was the only one here with that solenoid problem! Smile Malaysia Boleh!

Just emailed the dealer for it to be looked at. Let me know if you hear of a fix first though!
