This is a constant bug that many owners encounter. Have you done a soft reset using your keys, this usually sorts temporary problems ou. Simply lock, unlock, lock unlock using the key fob and the problem is usually sorted. I had this once and never again after the reset. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Try what VA says above, other than that , poor connection of battery negative lead (at body end mainly, but bad connections around battery in general have caused cutting out before, fuel gauge showing you have fuel when in fact it is empty has happened before, HP fuel pump failure, Shocked fairly unlikely, but has occurred. Sorry that's all I know about at the mo. Good Luck, let us know what they find.

Fuel starvation due to either pump, guage (lack of fuel) or control unit.

LR Assist are usually quite good with diagnostics, so let us know what he says.

Lastly, you've not misfueled have you? Whistle TDV8 HSE in Java/Ebony with Zebrano Wood, RSE, Hybrid TV, and a few other bells and whistles.

It's not often that the LR Assist man cannot diagnose it at the roadside or on your drive. Hope it turns out to be something silly and nothing serious 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Could be a lot of things, Jason... but it's not uncommon so your car is now in the best place to have it resolved. Good luck - let us know what they did.

Mine used to do this, happened a few times on the motorway, just lost power, as if it was off.
Stopped, restarted the engine and it was back to normal. Hadn't happened before but then happened a few times in a month or so, LR had the car in for a few weeks to diagnose and fix, and it was a wiring fault in the loom somewhere, which was rectified and never had the fault again.

LR assistance and LR dealer service were scratching their heads for a while, but mine was quite an early model, so guess they used it to have a little play with. Was sorted in the end though, and it was perfect afterwards..
