Tim, the approved phones list doesn't show a cradle for any Motorola phone... although the V3i is fully supported by the PTI Thumbs Up Do you have the iPod connector USB port in your glove box to charge from?

Nope, I didn't opt for the USB and connector, all that is in the glove boxes is a box of chocolates from Charles Hurst and a load of racks for CD boxes! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I thought this usb port in the glove box was only fitted if you got the ipod thingy installed. Confused or is there one lurking in my glove box that I haven't seen Question TDV6 - gone

It only comes if you spec the iPod connector, you're correct Josh. But it's a functioning USB port with power, so if you plug a phone's USB charger into it, you can charge the phone from it.

The simple answer is no, there is no bracket for the V3, you can use the glovebox USB to charge, but there is currently no method of attaching the address book!

Unless there is a bluetooth womble out there that can make it happen.......j('Razz') .

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.

In my new Audi - I too needed a modification to get the MMI to talk to my phone in Bluetooth mode inorder to access my phone book. After much searching around on the web - I came across a solution that worked for me - obvioulsy the audi software my be different to LR and I use a nokia - but I now have full phone book access over bluetooth = Perfect.

I have the cradle for the Nokia 6230i but it works much better through bluetooth, I now only use the cradle to charge my phone.
Whenyo9u first make a call with the phone in the cradle then you have to turn the volume up to 25 to 27 to hear the call then after 20 seconds the loudness of the call goes through the roof and you have to turn the volume down to 17-18 Shocked Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

So as I have a dinosaur Nokia 6230i which looks like the screen is going to pack in soon and I can upgrade next week.

Which of the LR approved phones should I go for Question

I prefer Nokia or Sony Ericsson. So wondering about N73 or W850i. TDV6 - gone

It may be worth a shot a trying the trick I have done with my nokia N95 - see link. http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic8175.html

It worked for me in my new 08 model year A6 avant - but it doesn't work in my wifes TT [ new model ]

So ... bluetooth technology is different accross the range within the same maufacturer.....

Which gets me asking the question - will it work in the latest RRS's ? - I know it doesnt on older versions as some have tried already.

Quite like the look of the new SonyE K850i which meets my needs, but is unlikely to appear on LR's list for another year or more. Big Cry

So do we think it will work cos the K800i is on LR's list OR am I taking a big gamble Question TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone
