Been thinking of reviving this but never got round to doing it. Couple of months ago I used my brother's 64 plate BMW 5 series for quite a few journeys over a few days. It has the upgraded infotainment system, called "professional" I think. Same deficiencies as LR's system with traffic awareness, re-routing and ETAs. Totally rubbish. It occasionally identified traffic but did nothing about it. The ETA was always ambitious to begin with and just kept increasing when sat in traffic. Also instructed me to turn into a road that was permanently closed with a barrier and I know it wasn't a newly changed road, been like that for many years.

In the end I gave up and started using my phone for navigation in his car too. The grass isn't necessarily greener... At least RRS doesn't tire you out in stop/start traffic as it has comfortable seats and excellent seating position.

Oh and I have been using Waze for the last few weeks as opposed to Google Maps. Very good app. Only time it let me down was when it tried to take me to closed roads but can't blame it as road closures were dynamically changing while a charity run was being held. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

I bought a late MY16 plate but gave it back to LR within 2 weeks as the Sat Nav was awful . I changed it for a MY17 RRS Autobiography and the newer system is far superior but still not as good as my previous BMW635d. I have also now been using Waze for the last few weeks on my iphone and found this to be excellent. Why cant LR just buy Waze and put it into all its vehicles.
