12v Electric Jack

Out of curiosity just wondered if anybody had any experiences with this type of jack and if they are any good, can't be any worse than the thing L/R supply as standard. Interested in their opinion If anybody actually has one and if they are any good. Not necessarily this particular make, cheap enough but wouldn't expect to much for £100.00 though, if it's any use, as it's a tyre inflator and includes a impact wrench. Might be worth chucking in the back of the car.

Selson Air Jack

I got tired of using the LR supplied jack which is only mean't for occational use and bought myself a Selson Air Jack.
For the European market they are made in the UK - no Chinese rubbish.

I can highly recommend one.

I was thinking more for a puncture/flat tyre at the side of the road, unfortunately that would not be any use unless you also had a portable air compressor of some sort with you.

Yes I agree - a bit big to lug around in the back of the car.

I have one of those air compressor powered bellows style jacks in the garage - works great with normal cars but does not lift enough for the RRS without a few 4x4s added to it - also not suitable for lifting under the suspension arms - wondered how long the rubber bellows lasts before it perishes.

I used to have a 12v scissor jack (from Aldi) but it also suffered the same problem with the OEM jack where the car always had a propensity to roll off the jack - in the end the car did (even with brakes etc on) as the car has to be lifted so high that its position changes as the car is lifted - happens with the OEM jack as well. 07MY RRS TDV6

Air jacks take up a fraction of the space that a normal trolley jack takes and the model that I have has a lift of 300mm which is more than adequate for general maintanance on the RRS - and it doesnt need any 4x4s added as indicated by the previous post.
It uses standard Dunlop air pillows which have been available for years, so getting replacements is not a problem.
