Paint blistering/peeling

My clear top coat is blistering in up to 2 cm spots and it has not been jetted. The base metallic (2014 Chilli red) is fine and not chipped. Local body shop inspected and says that the lack of bond is too long in between paint applications in works.
Awaiting LR warranty response but it requires some major respraying, could not find any other mention on the RRS forum or is it just this mix of paint that was discontinued?

I don't know of a Chilli Red colour in Land Rover...I know it's a MINI colour.

Is it Rimini Red?

Chilli red was available on 2013/2104 models but then discontinued for 2015 Models onwards. Used to have one myself.

It was the launch colour, very fine metallic particles.

Thanks for responding, I feel a bit better!
I am not confident so far in the response from LR and this could well be the final issue and sale with LR after many years of loyalty and cost. Reminds me of British Leyland!

Well my dealer has agreed to respray, however this is due to the fact they did a SMART REPAIR before i bought the car and DIDN't TELL ME!!

Was your car brand new or an approved used car? If new I would be kicking up a HUGE fuss and be asking for a replacement car! Evil or Very Mad

Approved used....so I think my options are limited? The dealer confirmed that it was them who carried out the repair due to a small scratch? I'm sure that they should have disclosed this? 2014.5 Mariana Black 5.0 Supercharged V8 Autobiography

I guess your options are limited, unless you specifically asked them to see the approved used car report prior to buying the car and this paint repair was not mentioned on that? They do not legally need to disclose a smart repair to you if you did not ask about if there were any paint repairs to the vehicle before sale. As long as they were happy the repair was up to manufacturers standards they should be legally OK.

I have always asked to see this report on any used car I buy as you get to see what issues were sorted prior to the car being "approved" as an "approved used car".

Thanks for the info, I assumed that as it was only a few months old when I bought it that it would be ok. Well, one lives and learns! 2014.5 Mariana Black 5.0 Supercharged V8 Autobiography

This problem is on original paintwork, had it new and I am waiting for a response.

RESPONSE SO FAR FROM LR IS NO. They say its an external influence yet it has had nothing and there are remains of blisters on the top coat, see pic. Any ideas?
