Hi Eaters,
Yes it really is an odd one!, I know enough about Land Rovers to know that you are highly unlikely to be the first person to have encountered a particular problem! Go to google and type in Front whatever issue and you will be greeted with a full drop down of options for your problem (and many others!)

Its a real shame as when I drive around town its a joy, drives nice looks great but as soon as you get on the A roads or motorways or anything above 40Mph the second you back off the throttle you get a noisy wurring drone, If you crank the stereo up its not so bad (Old land Rover fix)but you can still feel a vibration through the steering and pedals!

I will Check the wheel bearings at some point but at the moment I cant even be bothered driving it much as my commute involves going over 40 Mph so I just use my wife's car instead and leave my one on the driveway, on a plus note I have just discovered that one of my doors is unlocked pretty much most of the time so I may not need to worry to much some toe rag might do me a favour!
Did you manage to get your work done under warranty in the end? Regards,

Danny

Again I'm no expert but the fact that you only get the rumble over 40 mph points to a balance issue. I'd have thought that if it was wheel bearings it would happen all the time! Its a real puzzle and such a shame that you don't want to use it. Have you tried taking it on well past 40 mph to see if it goes away as you get much faster?

I'm waiting with fingers crossed for the warranty company at the moment... Robin

Hi Eaters,
Good luck with your warranty hopefully that goes through without any issues.
Yes my rumbling/wurring is always there after approximately 40mph I say always it's there the second you lift off of the throttle, my commute involves using 70mph roads so it's no joy whatsoever!, it doesn't seem to be any louder with the increased speed but it's really frustrating!
I had hoped it was something like a prop bearing as that would make sense with the power/tourqe transfer when coming off the throttle but that was looked at so it's something less obvious unfortunately!
Never mind it's still unlocked on my driveway so you never know!
I hope you get your warranty payout and I will let you know if there are any developments with mine. Regards,

Danny
