Dave's new job

Hi All,
Just to let you know that I'm moving to a new role within SVO which will see me stepping away from delivering vehicle programmes such as SVR but I'm moving into a very interesting part of Vehicle Engineering that allows me to play with very early concepts - a role that I've been itching to do for some time.

I'll still be around on here though as SVR will remain my biggest achievement of my career and then doing Spectre to boot.....well, you can imagine. Being able to build those on a really tight timescale with amazing guys working for me was what drove me to ask for this new role to be formed and after a good few months, it's finally here. I've just been involved with building another of my special SVRs which will be attempting a World Record at Bonneville in September. If you search "the Project Speed" on the web or Facebook, you'll see what that's all about.

Will I be back on a future SVR project? Let's see what the future brings but being able to shape things from day one is a chance too good to miss. Please do keep asking me stuff though; I'm more than happy to help.

Thumbs Up

A RRS with a decent amount of rear load room and decent rear seating would be a good start, cars aren't meant to get worse!
Best of luck in your new venture Dave, hope you have a long enjoyable time in it. John

Dave I am a new owner, and unlike a lot of people that complain about the fluffy stuff , I don't so much. I purchased the car because of the engineering , and this says a lot because I have moved from a German brand. So if you have been part of the team that has made the car an excellent road handling vehicle whilst maintaining off road ca[abilities > WELL Done. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Nice 2013 Freelander TD4 manual (for daughter to learn on) with much better stereo compared with previous SD4 SE with Meridian which sounded bad!

This quote says it all both for the vehicle and your new position.. As a newly retired Mech engineer I would say go for it and enjoy.. well done.
