South Africa 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Siberian Silver

thread resurrection

has anyone used their IID/LLAMS to lift their L494 when off-road, and if so, what was the max you used?

thanks --

finally got some feedback, Pat was very helpful:

For temporary usage, raise it to the maximum...

Its preferable to raise both front and rear equally.

I installed LLAMS on mine. It works a treat. It can lower or raise from whatever your car height setting is. 1 lower setting and 2 higher settings (plus an off setting) . I installed the adjustment knob on the small section of dash to the right of the steering wheel. see http://www.llams.com.au/ MY15.5 SDV6 HSE Dynamic without the H . Yulong White

Thanks Greg.

Out of curiosity, what's the maximum extra height that the Llams allows you to set?

I'm asking because this weekend we went off-roading, and I set the car to +20mm via the IID tool, and still could not complete the course. Even when I was beached, I couldn't get extended mode.

For example:

The Medium setting will add 30mm to whatever height you have the car at.
If you use the High setting while in Off-road setting, you apparently get the equivalent of super-extended mode. I have not tried this.... Shocked MY15.5 SDV6 HSE Dynamic without the H . Yulong White

Interesting, because when I use the IID tool, the maximum increase is +25mm when front & rear are linked.

After +25mm, only the rear can go up more, but that would make the vehicle not level and GAP do not recommend this.

I wonder how it is that Llams can do +30mm and also access super-extended mode... --

Bear in mind that the system has a finite range of movement. It might be that with your vehicle in off road height 2 plus the 25mm the IID added, you were at the physical limit of travel of the suspension. Remember that the front suspension has slightly less total travel available than the rear.

The Disco 5 has slightly more ground clearance (just as the D3 had slightly more than the RRS1) which may be why he was able to get through where you weren't.

Ultimately, we're all limited by ground clearance issues. That's why the Defender boys fit body lifts - it gives better clearance under the cills etc but also, crucially, allows larger diameter tyres which give overall clearance improvements such as below the diffs. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Yeah, I know.

I'm looking at swapping my 255/55 road tyres for 275/55 or 275/60 AT ones, should also help a bit --
