what version sat nav

I know nothing about factory fitted sat navs, this is my first vehicle with it built in..

07 TDV8

Firstly, how do I find out what version my sat nav is? can I see on screen or do I have to physically look at the disc?

Mine seems quite up t date, works on the move, my Bluetooth connects to iPhone 6 perfectly with address book etc... so I think I'm fairly up to date, however there have been some roads the sat nav doesn't know... so I assume it is a few years out of date...

I'm not prepared to pay Ł100+ just yet as it is generally ok.... but I just saw this link and wondered peoples thoughts? is it worth it? are the 5 star reviews real? etc etc.
http:// link removed as advised

Thanks

You should take that link out of your post - not allowed on here as the discs aren't original LR ones.

However to answer your question that disc will do the job and yes those reviews are genuine - one of them is mine Wink

Well I managed to get the current disc out and found mine was actually the original one from 2007 (YIW500200) so I've ordered the one from that website for Ł34.99, I am normally a believer in the saying "buy cheap, buy twice" but thought it was worth a shot in this case as the reviews look good Thumbs Up

Cool Thumbs Up

I assume that updating sat nav has absolutely no effect on the Bluetooth connection? After reading about so many connection problems, I don't want this ruining my perfectly working connection! Can anyone confirm the systems are completely separate?

Although they are both on the most network, it should have no impact at all on the BT system. Bodsys Brake Bible

Updated really quickly yesterday.... Tested by entering my work address which didn't exist on the previous version, all good and happy, especially for Ł34.99.

I did think the layout and look would be a bit different though

The DVD contains updated navigation data (streets, adresses, POIs etc) only, not the firmware for the actual satnav unit. The way it displays the maps will be always the same, no matter what disc you use. Regards etc.,

Ahhh ok.... I probably wouldn't, (not with any urgency anyway) but is there ways of changing the display? Just out of interest!

Laughing I don't use the navigation enough to justify it myself, but it's a nice feature. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
