Drivers side foot well mat and carpet - future issue

I have had my new RRSMY16 for just about 1 week now and I can see issues ahead with the drivers side foot well area carpet. I see LR have made the foot well protection mat shorter so it does not go under the pedals, guess they are afraid of legislation if a mat jammed.. ( was this ever a problem?? ). Anyway, I note the drivers side floor pan has a step in it just on the forward side of the mat, this is exactly where the feet land and it looks like a major wear area for the carpet. Sadly because of the shortened mat there is all protection for the carpet in this area. I live out in the country and the carpet is getting a beating from boots within a week.

Does anyone know of aftermarket carpets or rubber mats that will go under the pedals and protect this area??.. I have a set of the LR RRS rubber mats for winter use, but they are also short and offer zero protection to the carpet.

I recall member andman boasted about how good these were.. need to check re right hand drive etc.. P400e HSE Portofino Blue and Ivory Seats.. it's like a yacht!!

heres a link to the UK version states that only rears are available for RHD cars which is pretty disappointing really. maybe if enough of us get in touch they will produce them

Absolutely.... still very happy with mine....perfect fit and exceptional bad weather protection.....

I have done this also, In the mean time may have to bung down a bit of rubber matting
self cut to shape to protect the carpet.. What a state of affairs for a car that is meant to go off road and handle mud outside ( and in ). Plus costs so much.. I am slowly falling out of love for this car, way too many poor design issues and poor construction plastics. Just completed the customer questionnaire and rated it a 3 due to the design and material construction concerns.

I just emailed Weathertechs European warehouse in Italy ..... Got an email straight back

Doesn't look like the RHD are coming anytime soon ....

So this has to be worth an email to see if they will do RHD and 2015 model specific....

Seems to be semi rigid ....Plenty choice of colours and the pics look quite impressive ... price is good too.. !!

Found these as a sub £100 compromise, I too had feedback from the German HQ of the weathertec lot and for RHD footwell mats there is no immediate solution in play.

Thought I'd buy some before the rush !!

Thanks BoldlyGo.. they look the business. Just ordered a set. At least the drivers side mat gives protection where needed. My drivers side carpet was starting to resemble a sheep that had rolled in a mud bath!. Still cant believe that LR have lost track of basic design requirements like this.
