United States 2006 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Zambezi Silver

I had trouble with mine too - had lock with no key - so I had to order spare key- turned key - pull out green handle and rotate anti- clockwise - Censored would still not come off- a bang with rubber mallet did the Job at that point Smile . Went to land rover experience center in Carmel ca, needed to have hitch off to improve departure angle for the terrain there - lots of fun !

Cheers

Hi Darren

I hope this isn't stating the obvious. But after your liberal applications of release agent, you remember that after turning the key ( the green mashed up bit in your photo). You have to pull the release knob out before turning anti-clockwise to release the locking pin. A bit fiddly if your trying to persuade it and pull down at the same time probably need three hands for this bit. As previously mentioned its heavier than you think when it comes out.
Have Fun

Hi SRE, notice you mentioned your Fletcher Wakesport GTS19. As a long term Fletcher owner myself I am looking to upgrade to exactly this model, so if you are looking to sell let me know. Thumbs Up

Tow bar removal

I had the same problem , couldn't get it off ! Ended up grinding it off in pieces and knocking the rest out with a chisel ! It was well stuck ! It was the sliding pin that shoots up towards the spare wheel that was the problem as mine has a log tank in the spare wheel location I couldn't get to knock the pin back in !
